Washington (EFE).- El secretario de Defensa de Estados Unidos, Lloyd Austin III, confirmó que un policía del Pentágono perdió la vida en un tiroteo ocurrido en cercanías de esa instalación, del que no se han precisado mayores detalles.
En un comunicado, Austin se refirió al integrante de la Agencia de Protección de Fuerzas del Pentágono, de quien dijo «ha fallecido a consecuencia de las heridas recibidas esta mañana». Austin, quien ordenó ondear la bandera a media asta en la sede del complejo de Defensa, señaló que el policía «murió en el cumplimiento de su deber, ayudando a proteger a las decenas de miles de personas que trabajan en -y que visitan- el Pentágono a diario»
